Contraindications for Colon Hydrotherapy
Abdominal Hernia
Contraindicated within 3 months post-surgery.
Abdominal Surgery
Contraindicated within 3 months post-surgery.
Abdominal Distension
Acute Liver Failure Anemia: Severe
Contraindicated if patient is already at risk of cardiac compromise due to Anemia.
AIDS/HIV
Abortion
(less than 6 months)
Anal Fissures/ Fistulas/ Bleeding
Aneurysm
Contraindicated when Aneurysm is located anywhere in the abdominal cavity.
Contraindicated when the patient is taking blood thinners.
Breastfeeding
Cancer of the Colon and/or other Cancers
Colitis Active or Bleeding
Cardiac Conditions
Crohn's Disease
Cirrhosis
Dialysis Patients
Diverticulosos / Diverticulitis:Acute
Due to inflamed colonic mucoas of the intestinal wall, it has a heightened chance of perforation due to water pressure therefore creates a contraindication.
Excess Alcohol/ Drugs: within past 12 • 48 hours
Epilepsy/ Seizures
Contraindicated when uncontrolled.
Haemorrhoidectomy Surgery
Contraindicated within 3 months post-surgery.
There are several medical conditions where it is not advised to undertake colon hydrotherapy. If you feel or know you suffer from any of these contraindications let your Colon Hydrotherapist know in order to ensure the best path forward. Or alternatively discuss it with your doctor and gain consent prior to undergoing treatments.
Contraindications include the following:
Hemorrhoids (severe/bleeding)
Hepatitis A, B, C
High Blood Pressure
Intestinal Perforations
Kidney Dialysis
Lupus
Mentally Unstable (severe depression)
Miscarriage (less than 4 months post op)
Pregnancy (first and last trimester)
Present Gastrointestinal Infection
Rectal / Colon Surgery
Contraindicated within 6 months post surgery.
Colon, Rectum or other abdominal surgery.
Renal Insufficiencies
Severely Obese
Steriod Medications
Strong Abdominal Pain
Taking Blood Medication
Tumours
Vomiting at Present Time
